Logos
For all you HL artists out there here is a zip file download containing all the
spray paint logos shown below. Now you can leave your mark where ever you go;
in style. Once downloaded just place the logos into your
Half-Life\valve\logos\... directory.
 
Getting them to work in servers
Keep in mind that some servers have custom sprays disabled and will not show
your custom logo. If the server does have custom sprays enabled, you still must
have your spray uploading and downloading enabled to allow yourself and others
in the game to view your decal. To enable this, you must enter the following
commands into your Half-Life console, or place them into a config file like
config.cfg or autoexec.cfg:
cl_allowupload 1
cl_allowdownload 1
cl_download_ingame 1 |
If you have all of this completed correctly and your spray still shows up as
the default spray, which is a plain Half Life logo in a yellow-orange color,
make sure you have given yourself a minute or two after joining the server or
enabling your upload/downloads. It takes your computer a while to actually send
the decal to the server, so it will not be active immediately the first time
you install it. If you can't figure out how to spray your logo, try pressing
'T' while aiming at a wall or floor (this is the default key for spraying) or
bind a key like below:

To get your custom sprays to work in Half-Life/Counter-Strke Steam you need to
do the following.
1. Dowload desired .wad file (Your spray logo but in WAD format).
2. Rename desired .wad file to tempdecal.wad
3. Copy tempdecal.wad to your cstrike (folder for Counter-Strike)
or into your valve (folder for Half-Life DM). default location for
example: C:\Program
Files\Steam\SteamApps\you@email.address.com\counter-strike\cstrike\...
4. Set tempdecal.wad to read only In Windows, right click the
file and go to "properties" then just check the tick box for 'read
only'. This is to stop Half-Life from trying to overwrite your chosen logo with
it's default logo.
5. Fire up Counter-Strike or Half-Life and see if it works. You'd be
better off testing it in a hosted/LAN game asmentioned above some servers have
custom logos disabled.
